All in a days sketchbook.

So excited about an on-line art class I am taking. It has opened my eyes to observing texture shading and color and challenging me to sketch daily with different media, pastels, ink, watercolors, graphite, markers, pencils, acrylic etc.
Thrilled to find Alicia Burke who is exceptionally talented and a delight to learn from.
Check her out for a variety of workshops.
And picked up my paintings from the 'Rhythms And Patterns In Nature' exhibit.
It was a pleasure to participate. ;o) Thank you MPPC and The Arts Of The Covenant.

the LORD bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does He withhold
from those whose walk is blameless'.

Shells

I am a beach lover...sand, sun and water.
Living on the west coast of North America allows me the privilege
of visiting the beach and when I am there
I always ask myself why
I don't go more often.
This week I have been painting a variety of seashells using different pigments and mediums.
Here are a few thoughts about seashells that I like to think about:

Here are a few thoughts about seashells that I like to think about:
Seashells have provided protection for a variety of creatures and provide the convenience of a mobile home.
Conch shells have been used as musical wind instruments- should you need one.
And, when you are desperate to take a vacation and can't, putting your ear up to any shell can temporarily help alleviate the need...did I mention temporarily?
This is what God the LORD says— the Creator of the heavens, who stretches them out, who spreads out the earth with all that springs from it, who gives breath to its people, and life to those who walk on it: “I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness; I will take hold of your hand.

God's Glory As Exhibited By His Creation
Preparing to submit watercolors to be juried and considered for exhibition at Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos beginning September 10th.
These 2 watercolors are part of a group of 4 images that I painted over the past 4 years and original reference photos taken from my garden.
I am delighted that I am able to submit and share them at this venue.

Watercolor In Worship
Three watercolor images based upon Romans 12:1.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Romans 12:1
As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to Me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. Isaiah 55:10-11

THE HEART OF WORSHIP
'They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the LORD for the display of his splendor.' Isaiah 61:3b

THE FRUIT OF WORSHIP
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in Him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit. "Jeremiah 17: 7
To be displayed at Venture Christian Church in Los Gatos, CA.
Reception on May 22nd @ 1:00.
